Meet Andy Peters

Hey there – I am Andy Peters! Starting Ninth Division has been something I have been wanting to do for years. I am super excited about it and thought it was time to introduce myself to you all following the site and those who have just come across it now. You may have seen my personal site; I’ll try not to make it redundant. 
Entrepreneurship has been in a my blood. Much of my family were or are entrepreneurs through their life. So I grew up that way…
When I was seven years old, I ran successful lemonade stands (well, as successful as they can be. but hey, i made enough money to have fun all summer long). Through high school and college I had a small time computer networking business called: Computer Dude (original I know… it was the era of “Dude, your getting a dell“). A few years ago I was doing a lot off night time programming side jobs… that is what eventually let me to forming Ninth Division.
I have been married to my wife, Sydney for almost three years now; we have been together since high school. We have an awesome house together with the best dog in the world… named Chewie. Best thing is: he doesn’t bark. I grew up here in the Omaha area and I have two younger sisters. One lives here in Omaha and the other in Denver.
Besides coding, new and technology and hanging with my wife, here are some things I like to do…
- Photography – I love photography and if I could clone myself, I would be happy doing Ninth Division and photography for racing events (this will make sense a few bullet points down).
- Bicycle rides – I ride my bicycle across Nebraska every summer with my (now) 85 year old grandpa. This coming up summer I am doing the Triple By-Pass in Colorado with my high school shop teacher.
- Concerts – I have seen hundreds of concerts, bands from Rush to Nine Inch Nails to The Faint. Concerts are the life of a band/musician; I know I used to play in a band for 4 years.
- Car racing – During the spring, summer and fall months I race my ‘05 Subaru WRX STi on road courses and SCCA autocross events.
Random and probably embarrasing things..
- I have about 10 keyboards from the last two years because I have a thing for finding the “right” keyboard. Currently use Apple keyboards and I actually like ‘em.
- I can touch my tongue to my ear.
- I wake up at 5AM with my wife to hit the gym.
- Sushi, Thai and Cereal are probably my favorite foods.
- I play my guitar when I have a brain block.
- Some day I want to visit New Zealand, the Andes mountains in South America, the Middle East (when it’s safer) and Antartica.
- I love a good t-shirt
- I have a Nissan truck named Larry.
