Hasani Hunter, now co-founder of Ninth Division

Ninth Division has a co-founder, (drum roll please) his name is Hasani Hunter. This is great news and I am extremely excited about this. This announcement could not come at a better time for Ninth Division. The exciting “projects” we have coming up this year will need a team; and not just two developers. When I started the company, I never wanted it to be just another name for Andy Peters building iPhone apps. You know, “like a real business.” My intention is to be able to make it something bigger. Bringing on Hasani is the first step in that process.
Video and article from Silicon Prairie News.
Hasani – (Hah-shaw-nee as it’s pronounced; I said it wrong for about 2 months and now you won’t) and I met at a Midlands Venture Forum meeting about a year ago. We were both there having just started our companies. Another iPhone developer in the area?… I never heard of one. As it turns out neither did he. I thought I was the only one crazy enough to start a company doing iPhone development. He even had an app to show off.
One of Hasani’s most notable iPhone applications is WxFix. This is an app produced by Eelios, Inc. out of Nebraska. Eelios was one of Hasani’s clients from last year and that team really built a great app.
Hasani and I did a lot of co-working through the summer and fall at Scooters Coffeehouse. During the summer of 2009 we were featured in an article for the Omaha World Herald; the pictures were taken at our previously usual hangout in Elkhorn, NE. With all the interest locally in what we were doing, business was moving along well. That led to some video interviews with Silicon Prairie News and just like myself, he was featured in an SPN video interview.
Hasani brings a lot of entrepreneur and leadership qualities to our team. He’s led many types of projects in the last year with his company, worked in different environments, and solved different problems. All things Ninth Division will be up against in the coming years. A very important quality in finding a business partner is Trust. After working with him for a year he’s earned mine and many other’s trust. I am sure he can earn yours.
Some of you know, we worked on a recently released iPhone app called Touch Cam. We started working on Touch Cam at an iPhone developers conference we went to back in October. We built it in a weekend, but wanted it to be a product instead of a project. Over the next few months we worked on it when we could with the client work we had. Doing that we both realized working together more we could acomplish a lot.
That leads us to now. Ninth Division is starting 2010 off with a solid team, big goals and a lot of determination. Exciting times…

That’s great news! Congratulations to you both!!
It’s an honor and a pleasure to join Ninthdivision! I am looking forward to all of the cool things we will be able to accomplish together!
