Touch Cam 1.1 Available Now

I am a little late to announce the availability of the latest version of Touch Cam.  So here goes: Available on the App Store earlier this week is version 1.1.  Version 1.1 brings support for Spanish and French speaking language support.  On deck for a version 1.1.1 release is German speaking language support; it wasn’t ready in time for us to submit it to Apple.

Three reasons for the multiple language support.

  1. We have seen interest in the app in German and Spanish speaking countries so we wanted to provide it.  We are in America, but the iPhone is a dominant device in pretty much the rest of the world too.  After internationalizing Touch Cam, we will be internationalizing our other apps we do.
  2. We know other folks to do the language and regional translation.  Hasani’s family are very smart individuals from South America.  It wasn’t too hard for them to translate our app to Spanish.  My sister speaks very fluent German, she helped with that.  A friend helped with the French translation.
  3. It was a great programming lesson to internationalize and have multiple regions support in the app.  XCode and the App Store makes it pretty easy to have an app with other languages to support.

Hasani did much of the programming work.  He said it probably only took about 2 hours to setup the app for it.  The hardest part was testing the other languages.  He has a nice write up coming next week on the programming effort around it.

This is a global market, we want to play nicely in it.

See you at version 1.2.
