Projects we don’t take on

One of the best parts of my job is working with people who have an idea for an app. Better yet, making those ideas come to life in anyway, is just pure amazing. Even though we’d like to think we can do any type of app that comes our way, we’ve said no before. There are some Apps that we just can’t or won’t do well. I thought I’d take a moment and discuss what those are.

BigOmaha for the iPhone and iPad coming soon.

Just like the last two years of this monumental event, we’ll be doing a custom iPhone app. But New this year is native support for an iPad version as well. Today, I’m not going to confirm design, features or spoil any other surprises but this year we have some great things planned. So stay tuned to the end of the month for more details.

We’re working with Graphic.ly

We’re working with Graphic.ly

Graphic.ly is a rad startup out of Colorado whose mission is to bring you great comics to be consumed in a social way. This last month in January, we started working with them. They came to us needing some immediate bug fixes on their current iPad app. We worked it into our schedule and focused on getting their version 1.1 in the App Store ASAP.

Update Capistrano script to use Mercurial

As you know we made the switch to Mercurial. We will continue to write some of the stories about this move. First up is updating any of the web apps we have. We don’t have many web apps which we built for clients, since we mostly do iOS/Mac development. Those that we do have are built using Ruby on Rails and all have Capistrano deployment scripts. All those Capistrano scripts were for subversion originally; time to move it to Mercurial.

By now, you know we are moving to Mercurial to manage all of our source code. Yesterday I told you about why Mercurial is the right fit for us. In that article I made mention of BitBucket.
